Updated April 3304
Version 3.0+ has cut payout rates on passenger missions. Initial findings point to smaller ships getting a bigger pay cut than the larger ones. I have started the process of retesting ships on the Rhea to LQ Hydrae run. Example hour earnings:
Type 6:
Pre-3.0: $29,061,650
Post-3.0: $17,295,676
Python:
Pre-3.0: $40,838,110
Post-3.0: $36,421,772
The larger ships appear to benefit from a boost to pay rates on first and business class bulk transport missions, while the economy cabin transport missions have taken a hit.
I will start to update the spreadsheet showing old payout rates versus the new rates. It just might take a while for me to re-run the missions. East Galaxy Company at ITO Orbital is really running me ragged on contract missions. Have to pay bills before I can pilot the fun ship runs in my spare time...
I get questions about the earnings potential for the less expensive ships in the shipyards. Since I was already flying larger, more expensive ships by the time passenger missions became wide spread, I'm going to take a step back and fly some of the smaller ships with passenger cabins installed.
I will report on credits earned by taking short haul passenger missions. All missions will be from Rhea to LQ Hydrae.
- I have allied reputation at most of the local factions in my home system, so payout rates are maxed out
- To maximize passenger cabins, each ship will be outfitted without shields and with a docking computer to help avoid hull damage on landings. I will run in either solo or private modes to avoid unnecessary gankage
- Average credits are calculated for the round trip - so I factor in jumps and light years for getting to LQ Hydrae and back to Rhea to get a fresh set of high-paying "allied" missions
Notable Results:
- The Anaconda is king, even more than the Type 9 (I have not yet tested Cutter or Corvette...and Beluga test is still pending)
- Please note that the biggest ships, while earning a lot of money per hour, can also be challenging to fill. The 176 seats on the 'Conda would take several board flips, and sometimes I would even have to wait for the boards to update on their own, before I could fill it. So that lowers the hourly earnings slightly - I did not track the time it took to fill the cabins
