Sisters' Refuge - Asteroid Base

System: HIP 16813

Planet:  HIP 16813 A 1

Station: Sisters' Refuge (Asteroid base)

A bit off the beaten path, Sisters' Refuge lured me in with three things:
  • It's an asteroid base, and I was scouting asteroid locations to use in my novel
  • I was intrigued by the name of the station
  • I was even more intrigued by the name of the controlling faction - The Order of the Seven Bells
This just screamed religious cult location to me, and that's what it ended up being in my novel!

The location lends itself to some highly scenic shots. It has a different tone from Ring Mine due to its F-type star, which provides pale white illumination of the asteroid belt. Ring Mine has a B-type and is a much moodier experience with its purple-blue lighting. I would have to give the edge to Ring Mine.

However, Sisters' Refuge does have some nice views of colorful nebula. So I do recommend it for anyone who likes asteroid bases.
